As New Yorkers, we have inherited a vibrant, diverse city, and a rich progressive history. From building the subway system, to welcoming immigrants, to child labor and workplace safety laws, to creating and preserving affordable housing, to campaign finance reforms, New York City has led the way in policies dedicated to promoting justice, equality, and opportunity in a thriving city.
Unfortunately, in recent years, that commitment to equality and inclusion has weakened. Income inequality has risen dramatically. Homelessness is at an all-time high. Discrimination remains pervasive in employment, education, health, housing, and policing.
Progressive NYC was formed to re-energize local government by supporting progressive candidates who are committed to helping all families and communities have access to good jobs, safe and livable neighborhoods, great public schools, decent and affordable housing.
